If you’re a lover of Afro Pop, I’m sure you’d love to meet this guy who is making waves at Methodist University. He is up for nomination for the student in music of the year at the Cbaze awards 2018.
Let’s get straight to knowing who this Kuulpeep is!
Kuulpeeps Methodist University: Hello!!!!
Jvst Daniels: Hi, how are you?
Kuulpeeps Methodist University: I’m good, yourself?
Jvst Daniels: I’m great
Kuulpeeps Methodist University: We are all interested in knowing about you and your music.
Jvst Daniels: I’m cool with it, I’m equally excited.
Kuulpeeps Methodist University: Can you tell us a bit about yourself? Who is Jvst Daniels?
Jvst Daniels: Gabriel Daniel Sagoe is my name. I hail from Cape Coast but I live in Takoradi. I’m the first born and I have two siblings, so plus mom and dad, we are a family of five. I am currently in the Alpharoyal hostel ( one of the hostels on Methodist University campus) and a level 300 Information Technology student at Methodist University.
Kuulpeeps Methodist University: How do you classify your genre of music?
Jvst Daniels: Afro Pop
Kuulpeeps Methodist University: Great! So who/what inspires you to take this path?
Jvst Daniels: I get inspired by the things around me, things happening and all. I love Bob Marley, Burna Boy, J Hus, Sarkodie, Yaa Pono and they inspire me a lot.
Kuulpeeps Methodist University: So what then inspired your stage name and your reason for choosing it.
Jvst Daniels: My stage name is Jvst Daniels, I’m signed on to WMTR- Well Motivated Team Records. Daniels is from my name Gabriel Daniels Sagoe. So Jvst was added to the Daniels by my little sister Susan, trying to say there is no one but just Daniels, So I changed the just to jvst, It’s pronounced just, I hope you getting it?
Kuulpeeps Methodist University: Oh yes! Very interesting how your little sister, Susan, inspired your stage name.
Jvst Daniels: Yes she’s a bright girl.
Kuulpeeps Methodist University: So how many songs have you released so far?
Jvst Daniels: I have dropped two singles so far. Gone and Adey for you. Adey for you is the latest single, I dropped it this year.
Kuulpeeps Methodist University: Oh wow! That’s great!. So what inspired both songs?
Jvst Daniels: Gone is actually a breakup song, about some breakup a year ago. Adey for you was motivated by my mom, I’m mommy’s boy like that😊
Kuulpeeps Methodist University: Lol Mummy’s boy. That’s nice.
Jvst Daniels: Yeah, yeah.
Kuulpeeps Methodist University: So we’ve heard quite a number of people calling you Paedae, what’s the reason behind that.
Jvst Daniels: I got Paedae in high school. One senior said I look like Paedae so he started calling me Paedae (also known as Omar Sterling, one of the musical duo, R2Bees) But I don’t know if I look like him.
Kuulpeeps Methodist University: Moving away from music: Aside music what do you do, what are you interested in?
Jvst Daniels: I love football, movies, taking walks, yeah all that. These are the things I like doing.
Kuulpeeps Methodist University: Lol what’s with guys and football? surprised you didn’t mention video games.
Jvst Daniels: OMG I betrayed FIFA🤦🏽♂ I love FIFA too much.
Kuulpeeps Methodist University: hehehe!!! What are your social media handles so we can follow you and keep up to date with you.
Jvst Daniels: For Twitter and Instagram, my handle is Jvst_daniels and for Facebook, Gabriel Daniels Sagoe
Kuulpeeps Methodist University: Finally, where do you see yourself in the future, like some 4 or 5 years to come?
Jvst Daniels: Hehehe!! Grammies and all…
