An amazing night of celebrating Ghanaian music it was yesterday and the early hours of today.
Beautiful performance by Samini and a glowing tribute to Ebony Reigns.
But as award after award were handed out, it seemed the VGMA was snubbing Shatta Wale until the Best Collaboration award came up. He won that category alongside the Militants with “Taking Over”.
But Stonebwoy carried the torch for Zylofon Media in the dancehall category.
Samini took home the VGMA for Reggae/Dancehall Song Of The Year for his song “My Own”.
And Stonebwoy won the Reggae/Dancehall Artiste Of The Year.
His album, the “Epistles of Mama” has won many international accolades.
This includes Reggae Ville calling it the Album of the year, we also know that it was the first song by a Ghana-based musician to debut on the Billboard chart.
But, Stonebwoy is hungry for more international success.

While accepting his award for the Reggae/Dancehall Artiste Of The Year, he promised Ghanaians that he will bring home more international awards and that includes the Grammys.
“I will bring you the Grammys. I have been there three times,” he said.
But his promise came before he threw shade at Shatta Wale, his Zylofon Media brother.
