The Ghana music scene has exploded.
Those at the top are making big moves while others are also finding it difficult to transcend beyond their peaked audience base.
Nana Appiah Mensah and Zylofon Media’s huge investments into the creative arts industry and music, in particular, is beginning to make the industry a little more attractive than it used to.
A new cloud of Ghanaian music superstars is also beginning to form in the person of King Promise, Kidi, Kuami Eugene, Kwesi Arthur among others. All of who were mentioned in the Kuulpeeps.com Emergers 2017, a shortlist of young Ghanaians who owned 2017 and are set to make 2018 the year they rake in major career gains.
Clearly, the Ghana music scene has become generational – a tribute to highlife legend CK Mann who passed yesterday.
With the old becoming legends and a new breed preparing to take up their mantel another set of underground musicians are being coached as you read this.
In recognition of this, the Matic Music Club in partnership with the Global Shapers Accra Hub are hosting a music seminar “Music Speaks” which seeks to educate the youth on the theme “Music and its Role in Building the Next Generation”.
The following topics will be explored during the seminar:
Music as a pedagogical tool
New media and digital skills for online promotion
Meeting with music production experts
Music as a tourism tool
Ghanaian musicians Trigmatic and Aka Blay will join resource persons from Spain to discuss the theme at Impact Hub Accra on Wednesday, March 28. The time is 6 pm to 8 pm
This event is free but you need to book a seat here.
