The biggest entertainment story making rounds is Stonebwoy’s alleged unhappiness at Zylofon Media and his purported wish to leave the record label that reportedly signed him for $250,000.
Until Shatta Wale joined Zylofon Media for a reported signing fee of $1.5M, Stonebwoy and Becca were the headline stars of the Zylofon Media music label.
This changed the moment rumours of Shatta Wale joining Zylofon Media came into the public domain. People raised questions as to how the record label will manage two rival dancehall artists under the same umbrella.
With the big commitments being made to Shatta Wale, it became clear that Stonebwoy, might become the second class dancehall citizen at Zylofon Media.
Even when Shatta Wale was unveiled, he promised to work with Stonebwoy. He also added that though they were family at Zylofon Media, he and Stonebwoy will be enemies on the streets.
But it seems Zylofon Media’s poster dancehall boy and Stonebwoy brought the fight from the streets to the family house.
There have been rumours that Stonebwoy felt neglected since Shatta Wale joined, thanks to Shatta Wale, we were able to confirm that there was indeed fire beneath the smoke.
This Shatta Wale’s Facebook post did confirm everything. Yes, he called out Stonebwoy – no shade, but direct confrontation.
“Stonebwoy stop that silly thing ooo ibe so Samini do weh a kill am lyrically .. this beef u deh try start u can’t win and you know from your dear heart ..I AM ZYLOFON ..are you ZYLOFON.. ? Answer me ..😡😡😡,” he said
After that, the story started to unravel and more details came out.
It really got nasty last Saturday, when Stonebwoy reportedly ordered that anything with Zylofon on it must be removed from the Liman Hall week’s event ground before he performs.
The artiste night of the Liman Hall week was billed as a Zylofon Cash night, with all the musicians signed onto the music label billed to perform.
But the ugliest face in this controversy, occurred at the Champs Bar when Stonebwoy went there to support his protégé, Kelvynboy at his ‘AfroBeats’ tour.
Shots were fired after some Zylofon Media staff attempted to confiscate a car that was given to Stonebwoy by Zylofon Media.

Stone must just leave Zylofon before it’s too late.

The Zylofon Media staff who led the charge has been reportedly fired after an internal investigation was launched.
As the Stonebwoy-Zylofon Media controversy comes ugly, the CEO of the music label, Nana Appiah Mensah tried to calm waters.
He released a statement on social media, calling all factions to remain calm.
“I urge all well wishers of Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy and Zylofon Media to remain very calm,” he said on Instagram.
But Nana Appiah Mensah’s “Keep Calm” message came after Bullet, the late Ebony’s manager muddied the waters with his post on Instagram.
“We had a fruitful meeting and reached an Agreement just yesterday.” please help me cos they want to take my car” and I want to be free. let’s pay CRITICAL ATTENTION to our dancehall artists,” Bullet wrote.
We don’t know how true this purported meeting is, but the message has sharp similarities to Nana Appiah Mensah’s post after Ebony died.
In a tweet, Nana Appiah Mensah claimed that the deceased dancehall artist wanted Zylofon Media to pay her bailout money from her record label, Ruff Town Records.
It could be Bullet’s attempt to pay Nana Appiah Mensah back in his own coin – Karma?
However, as Bullet is wading into the Stonebwoy-Zylofon Media controversy, Black Stars Captain Asamoah Gyan wants to stay out of it.
Apparently, some media houses are reporting that some Stonebwoy representatives approached him to pay Stonebwoy’s Zylofon Media bailout money.
But in a statement signed by Asamoah Gyan’s manager, Sammy Anim Addo and obtained by Kuulpeeps.com disputes those reports.
Now, we know that Stonebwoy has been given a week to make a decision on his relationship with Zylofon Media.
Will he leave the music label or not?
