Hey y’all Kuulpeeps, who have been globe-trotting and leaving the rest us to the mercy of the sun we have a bit of update information for you.
So y’all know how immigration officers have to check your passport before you’re allowed to board the plane and fly away or enter the country?
Yes, while you’re reading this, it has probably brought back memories of how a certain immigration official delayed you.
Well, since yesterday, there has been an upgrade.
A total of 9 electronic gates (E-gate) have been inuagruated at the airport by the Minister of Communication, Mrs Ursula Owusu-Ekuful.
The 9 electronic gates (E-gate) – 7 at arrivals and 2 yet to be installed at departures – basically allow travelers to use their passports to automatically enter and exit the country.
Yes, that passport checking process is now digital.
According to the Ghana Airports Company Limited, ” the gates uses facial recognition technology to verify the user’s identity against the data stored in the chip in their biometric passport.”
So the next time you’re leaving us or you’re probably retunring from a trip, know that your passport will be checked electoronically.
