Ebony Reigns Wins #3MusicAward Posthumously

On the day that deceased dancehall artiste, Ebony Reigns was laid to rest,  she beat other female musicians to win the Female Act of the Year award at the 3 Music Awards.

2017 was a very good year for the late music icon who released several hits back to back.

“Poison”, “Mame Hwe”, “Sponsor” among others are some of the hits Ebony released.

She was arguably the most talked about musician in the country.

She wanted our attention and she got it…

In a night that some musicians took turns to pay a tribute to Ebony, she edged out Becca, Joyce Blessing, Adina, MzVee and Sista Afia to pick the best Female Act of the year.

She was nominated in two other categories – Song of the Year (Shatta Wale won this category with “Ayoo”) and Reggae/Dancehall Act of the year (Stonebwoy won this category).

Ebony was killed in a gory accident on the Sunyani-Kumasi highway after visiting her mother in February.

She died alongside her friend, Franky Kuri and Francis Atsu Vondee, a military officer who were travelling with her.

Franky Kuri was laid to rest on March 3.
