A group of University of Ghana students, Samuel Van-Segbefia, Joanita Sefakor Fugar and Paul Godwin Kwaku Fordjour, represented the University of Ghana at the just ended Unilever IdeaTrophy Competition held in Johannesburg, South Africa and….they won!!
This is the first time a Ghanaian Group has won the contest since its inception in 2012.
The Unilever IdeaTrophy Competition is a student development initiative that exemplifies Unilever’s commitment to identify and groom future leaders for business. The competition had contestants being given various challenges in three different stages. They were also mentored intensively and assisted by business leaders from Unilever and were given access to resources and tools to bring their ideas to life.
The main aim of the competition is to enhance the development of leadership and entrepreneurial competencies among undergraduates.
Two teams represented the University (Team Kool T and Team Supernova) at the Ghana-Nigeria Grand Finals last year which qualified them to compete in the Africa Finals stage of the competition. The competition had delegates from Nigeria, Kenya, Cote D’Ivoire and South Africa competing and was held from 19th -23rd February.
As the winners of the competition, Team Kool T have been awarded a fully funded all-expense paid trip to represent the African continent at the Global Future Leaders League to be held in London in April this year.
We will be rooting for you Kuulpeeps!!!
