Legon: Sir Kingsley Organizes The First-Ever Internship Seminar For Students

Last Friday, the 16th of March 2018, Kingsley Adu Otchere, a presidential aspirant of the University of Ghana SRC, in collaboration with OYC Network organized the first ever internship seminar for all students of the University of Ghana.

 

The purpose of the seminar was to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to prospect for internship opportunities.

The seminar, which started at 11 am at the SRC Union Building, had a lot of students participating in the various sessions of the programme.

 

 

The first speaker of the day, Mr. Isaac Obeng (CEO of Olive Konsult) made a presentation on how to write a Curriculum Vitae (CV), a cover letter and the ways to be effective during interview sessions.

The second speaker, Mr. Ryan Agyapong (AML/CFT Analyst at CalBank), threw more light on how to select the right company for internship.

The seminar was climaxed by the presentation of the third and final speaker, Eddie Sekyere Jnr (Executive Director, Brandot Enterprise), who took participants through a practical session on how to effectively use LinkedIn to network and prospect for internship opportunities.

 

In all, the seminar lasted for three hours as the whole programme came to an end at 2:00 pm. Kingsley Adu Otchere, popularly called Sir Kingsley who happened to be the brain behind the seminar, promised to organize more of such capacity building and informative programmes for students when he delivered his closing remark.
