Ghana will be 61 on 6th March 2018 and the University of Ghana Debate Society would be organizing an Inter-Tertiary Independence Day Debate Championship on the University of Ghana campus to commemorate the day.
This would be the second edition of the Championship, but this year’s championship promises to be bigger and better since there would be 24 teams competing for glory in this edition.
The debate would run from 3rd March to 6th March 2018, with the preliminary rounds on Saturday, 3rd March and Sunday, 4th March and the finals on Tuesday 6 March at the University of Ghana SRC Union Building Conference Room.
The schedule for the event is as follows:
Saturday 3rd March, 8:00 pm, Physics and Chemistry departments
Sunday 4th March, 2:00 pm, Physics and Chemistry departments
Tuesday 6th March, 1:30 pm, SRC Conference Room
The debate would be based on various topics related to the independence of Ghana and other African Countries.
The institutions that would be battling for the ultimate prize and the bragging rights as the Champions of the Inter-Tertiary Independence Day Debate Championship include; University of Ghana, GIMPA, Zenith and Ghana Institute of Journalism. These institutions will be parading their best speakers so you should expect some real and competitive debate.
