UG SRC Aspirant, Sir Kingsley, Goes All Out To Bring Students Together Through Football

On a night earmarked for the clash of two European giants, the JCR of Mensah Sarbah Hall collaborated with Kingsley Adu Otchere, a Presidential Aspirant of the University of Ghana SRC to broadcast the live UCL match between Chelsea and Barcelona on a giant screen.


The match which started at 7:45 pm on Tuesday, 20th February 2018 recorded one of the highest turnouts in any student gathering as hundreds of students trooped in to watch the match. The high patronage recorded left some students even sitting on the balcony walls to have a glimpse of the match which was not short on excitement, tension and intensity.

Kingsley Adu Otchere, popularly called SIR Kingsley, provided free yoghurt to all the students gathered at the onset of the second half of the game. The spectators could not hide their joy and appreciation as they sang his praises amidst loud chants of his name.

The game ended 1-1 with Messi scoring the equalizer after Willian appeared to have won the match in Chelsea’s favour with his earlier goal.
