Lupita Nyong’o Details How She Came to Produce And Star In Trevor Noah’s “Born A Crime”

Peeps, if you have been following the Black Panther hype in the last two days, then you would have certainly come across the impressive story that Lupita Nyong’o will star in the Trevor Noah biopic “Born a Crime.”

If you didn’t know, then you have been informed.

Lupita will be portraying the mother of Trevor Noah, the host of “in a movie adaptation of his book, Born A Crime.

The book chronicles the life of the South African comedian and highlights how his parents gave birth to him at a time when it was illegal for White people to marry black people in South Africa.

The Apartheid system segregated black people from white people.

Patricia, Trevor’s mother and Lupita’s character grew up in a hut with 14 occupants and took her Trevor to three churches every Sunday, a prayer meeting on Tuesday, Bible study on Wednesday, and youth church on Thursday.

“I was on the set of Black Panther I pre-ordered the book, got it, read it and I sent you (Trevor) an email,” she said told the audience when she appeared on “The Daily Show With Trevor Noah.”

“And I said, Trevor, please will you do me the honour of letting me play your mother,” she said.

Noah then joked that he waffled about letting her star in the film until she sent him pictures of her muscles, at which point, he told himself, “That’s my mom, that’s my mom.”

That was the time, Lupita joined the movie and the production team.
