The UG Career Week 2018 dubbed Creativity: An Indispensable Tool In The 21st Century, will be happening next week and these are the activities you should look out for:
Industry-Academia Forum, Tuesday 27th February 2018, 10:00 am-1:00 pm, Confucius Institute
This program will bring together selected panelists from the corporate world as well as the academic sphere to discuss the expectations of the industry and the efforts being put in by the University to meet these expectations. This forum would also be an avenue for industry players, lecturers, and students to air their views on the issue of whose responsibility it is to ensure that students develop and exhibit creative abilities.
Standing out in the Industry, Tuesday 27th February 2018, 4:00 pm-6:30 pm, MLA
This would be a great opportunity for students to learn from influential personalities on how to be unique in any industry and also on how to survive in any industry.
Opening Ceremony, Wednesday 28th February 2018, 9:00 am-11:00 am, Athletic Oval
This would be the official launch of Career Week 2018. The Dean of Students, the Director of the Careers and Counselling Centre, the Chinese Ambassador, an SRC representative amongst other invited dignitaries will be present to set the Fair in motion.
Corporate Icon, Thursday 1st March 2018, 4:00 pm-6:00 pm, MLA
In this activity, selected students who have taken the Professional 360 course will be interviewed while other students look on. The platinum sponsors of the fair will be the interviewers. All that is required of you to participate is to drop a copy of your CV at the Careers and Counselling Centre latest by 26th February 2018.
“Who says we are not creative challenge”, Friday 2nd March 2018, 10:00 am-1:00 pm, MLA
This would be a day when we will know the department with the best creative students. Every department on campus will present creative students to battle for the bragging rights of the department with the best creative students. Students in the various departments will exhibit their creativity with regard to their courses.
Creativity Night, Friday 2nd March 2018, 5:00 pm-8:00 pm, Handball Court
This year’s UG Career Week is all about creativity, so expect a lot of creativity on that night. The Creativity Night will be a continuation of the departmental exhibitions, however, it will feature the departments that will showcase their creativity using creative arts.
Career Fair, Wednesday 28th February 2018-2nd March 2018, 9:00 am-4:00 pm, Athletic Oval
The fair will run for three days. Companies will set up at the fairgrounds and interact with students who visit their stands.
