The office of the second lady, Samira Bawumia has cautioned members of the general public to be cautious of the social media account impersonating her.
Currently, there seems to be several social media accounts and groups created in the name of the wife of the Vice President.
In a statement, the Office of the wife of the Vice President indicated that the “official social media accounts of Her Excellency, Mrs Samira Bawumia are SBawumia on Twitter, sbawumia on Instagram and Samira Bawumia on Facebook.”
The Samira Bawumia Facebook and Instagram accounts are verified.
Any account bearing her name and likeness other than the ones above, are to be disregarded.
Kuulpeep, if you have a transaction with any account other than the above-mentioned ones, it’s at your own risk.
The wife of the Vice President will not assume “responsibility and will not be held liable for the consequence of decisions made based on information from any social media accounts other the three listed above.”
For those creating all those pseudo social media accounts, we hope you have deep pockets and are ready to spend time in prison, because Samira Bawumia has threatened to follow due process (including but not limited to prosecution) to remove any accounts that infringe on the intellectual property rights of Samira and her office.
You can recall that the police recently warned Ghanaians to be mindful of fake social media accounts and how they deal with them.
