The 2017/2018 academic year begun successfully with the first semester in August this year. A cocktail of events really made the semester an interesting one.
1. Bangdadadang!!!
Some students started the semester with a bang!!! I am sure y’all remember the students who were caught having sex on their balcony at Pent. The video was taken from a distance, so the individuals involved are unknown, but you know students and our investigative talents once it has nothing to do with academics… we managed to figure the room, kuulpeeps has liable information that it happened at Block A. The room number we’ll keep to ourselves.
2. Artiste Night or MC’s night?
The Jean Aka Nelson hall celebrated their hallweek this semester!! It was a week of fun activities until the day of their artistes night. Peeps, the least said, the better. It was a total flop. The artistes they swore were coming didn’t even walk through!!
But hey big ‘shallout’ to the MC, Kojo Manuel for being the Shatta Wale, Sarkodie and all the International artistes on stage! oh and Feli Nuna for making it work despite all the technical difficulties and Kwesi Arthur for showing up for 5 minutes towards the end of the show.
3. The Brodo Wura Vs Jojo
This semester witnessed the election of New JCR executives who will assume office next semester in some halls. Unfortunately, for Alexander Kwapong hall, the winner for the position of ‘organizing secretary’, Joojo, was rejected by the Dean of Students. So next semester, Joojo and his rival Mary Aikins aka “brodowora” will re-contest for the position and residents of the hall will vote again.
4. Cancelled Exams
Imagine you go to the exam hall to write a paper and the invigilator never appears with your paper
This happened to the students of Agricultural Economics (ECONS 457); they had to go back to their rooms and write the paper on a different day.
5. The forgotten Artiste Night
Alexander Kwapong had quite a successful hallweek but just when everything was about to climax, the atomic explosion and the rain disrupted the event. Good news is, all the ‘refugees’ from the other halls got a safe place to eat and get music to calm their nerves.
6. The Freshers Party
On the arrival of freshers on campus, a ‘freshers party’ was organised for them right after the Akwaaba Night but unfortunately, turn out was low. Maybe they were too young and didn’t know what to expect in a club.
7. One Corner flop
Akuaffo had their hallweek this semester.
You didn’t know? lol yes, they had their hallweek and… it flopped tragically!! Even putting Patapaa on the bill did not pull people in. Let’s hope next year is better.
This is the major yawa that happened this semester. Think we left out something more?? Let us know in the comment box!

Mensah Sarbah’s hall week was just as equal as that of Akuafo
