Kuulpeeps, Y’all know by now that Nicki Minaj’s ex and hip-hop artiste, Meek Mill has been going through some legal battles recently.
If you don’t, then let’s catch you up… You know, you gotta have something to say when all your friends are talking about it.
In 2008, Meek Mill was arrested and jailed for eight months and later placed on probation for gun and drug charges.
In 2016, he was placed under house arrest for 90 days after violating travel restrictions.
Earlier this year he was arrested again in St. Louis, following an altercation in an airport involving two airport employees and was recently in New York City for allegedly driving his bike recklessly.
After this, JAY-Z and other celebrities have taken to social media to fight for what they call an injustice towards one of their own – Meek Mill.
JAY-Z called the sentencing “unjust and heavy handed.”
Early this year, JAY-Z paid the bail bonds of a lot of fathers to mark Fathers’ day.
Our black relatives in America have been fighting injustice since the first black person was sold into slavery.
The latest movement that’s fighting against injustices towards black and African Americans is known as ‘Black Lives Matter’. This was launched as a protest after the acquittal of George Zimmerman in the shooting death of African-American teen Trayvon Martin.
Since then white American policemen have also gunned down a number of unarmed black Americans.
Though black Americans are just 12–13% of the American population, they make up 35% of the prison population.
