Our black relatives in America have been fighting injustice since the first black person was sold into slavery.

The latest movement that’s fighting against injustices towards black and African Americans is known as ‘Black Lives Matter’. This was launched as a protest after the acquittal of George Zimmerman in the shooting death of African-American teen Trayvon Martin.

Since then white American policemen have also gunned down a number of unarmed black Americans.

Though black Americans are just 12–13% of the American population, they make up 35% of the prison population.
