Yes. Your Vagina Should Have A Smell!!!

“Your vagina should have a smell and if your man doesn’t like it, dump him,  said NO ONE EVER!!

AAAH LIES!! This gynaecologist based in Canada actually said it recently. We know, we know like how right? but I mean who are we to argue? She is the one with the credentials, not us.

Let us introduce you to Dr. Jen Gunter, a gynaecologist based in Canada, who recently shared on her blog her thoughts and personal experience on vaginal cleansing, after hearing that some women where using Vicks Vapo Rub to clean their vaginas.

Yes you heard it right. Vapo Rub, like aahh how harsh is that!! You people are out here doing crazy things ooo! Don’t kill the vagina, nurture the the vagina.

On her blog, she revealed how she broke up with a guy who criticised her vagina and the odour of it.

This is all so confusing especially when we have an array of feminine product companies urging us to use their products to help with odour etc, while using our favourite celebrities as ambassadors to help promote the products, then Dr. Jen comes out to say this…

She once tweeted: ‘A vagina takes care of itself. Like a self cleaning oven.’

But you know, to be honest, I once had a gynecologist tell me to stop using summers eve (feminine product) because it throws off your PH balance and as crazy as it sounds you need the bad bacteria in your vagina to keep things balanced.

Dr Gunter has previously stressed that women should be aware that douches are unnecessary – and even dangerous – as our intimate areas are designed to clean themselves. In her recent post she explained, for what I am sure is the 100th time, the vagina needs no cleaning and the vulva needs very little.

However, having a natural scent differs from having a scent from a infection or bacteria infection and come on ladies we know the difference, so if that is the case, go and tested please.

“If your partner insinuates that an artificial smell (i.e lavender, roses, watermelon) is preferable to the smell of a normal vagina they are the one who has an issue”- Dr Jen Gunter. ( that’s the link of her blog)

When it’s all said and done, take care of yourselves. Ladies, you should be in tune with your body to know when you need medical attention. Clean your vagina as you see fit. We are not instructing you on how to clean the private area wai.
