Everything You Missed At The 140 Character Session

Wait what? You were not at the Center of African Wetlands, University of Ghana, Legon yesterday??

Well you missed!

As part of the Social Media Week Accra, an interactive session on how to build a 140 character CV was held.

The aim of this session was to educate young people on how to use social media the right way, which could possibly land them a job.

The resource persons that graced the session were, Hannah Ashiokai Akrong, HR Director Vodafone Ghana,Venus Tawiah, the Director of Business development at Now Available Africa, also a Digital Manager and entrepreneur, Bernard Kafui Sopke, a marketing professional with a strong background in digital and marketing communications. Also present were Philip Gandaa Nanfuri who is  a development Finance and Business analyst at XYZ Broadcasting and finally David Mills, also an HR.

Of course, Giovani Caleb of Starr FM. moderated the session.

The session was fun and informative, rife with questions from a lot of young people on what to do and what not do on social media.

Oh and because we here at Kuulpeeps are nice, here are some key things you missed out on from yesterday;

Be careful of the information you put out there on social media, because that information you think is dope and cool could make you lose a big employment opportunity no matter how qualified you are.

Also, make sure any information you put about yourself on social media is true and authentic. Don’t go and put there what you are not; be sincere. Yes that includes putting CEO at World Bank in your bio on Facebook when you’re just an SHS graduate who didn’t even pass mathematics to be able to get into the University.

Remember, we are allowed to have fun and all on our social media pages but… do it wisely because whether you know this or not, social media can make or unmake you.
