Meet Nii Classy; One Of Legon’s Sexiest Students

Ladies!! Keep your salivary glands in check!!

Meet Ishmael Nii A. Quaye  , a freelance model and final year student of the University of Ghana, studying Political Science and Information Studies.

He goes by the stage name, Nii Classy

He’s also a contestant in the ongoing Photoicons Africa reality TV show soon to be aired on TV3. The show brings together professional models to compete for the ultimate icon who can sell well through pictures. They started with 40 contestants and they are left with 9 now.

He’s also a nominee for Most Influential Student Male Model in the UMB Ghana Tertiary Awards

He also just recently started a model agency with a friend. The agency is called StylesGH Fashion Agency

Because we want to give you a tease, we caught up with him for a “revealing” interview.

Kuulpeeps Legon: How long have you been modelling and why did you go into modelling?

Nii Classy: I’ve been a model for the past 3 years. I actually went into modeling mostly because i was looking for ways to positively impact the lives of others around me.

Kuulpeeps Legon: And being a model was the best way to do that?

Nii Classy: You’d be surprised that being a model or modelling is not about the runway or pictures alone… It transcends to your behavior and charisma, it includes the way you carry yourself. You become the person that people would want to aspire to. That way you become a paradigm or an example or a model to them to emulate.

Kuulpeeps Legon: So when was your first gig?

Nii Classy: My first gig was on a campus Fashion show held by Sarbah hall. This show featured Miss Ghana delegates at that time and i guess it also established my career.

Kuulpeeps Legon: And your biggest gig?

Nii Classy: haha my biggest gig yet is a surprise… God-willing it should be expected in the coming days. All i can tell you is, it is with a very big brand in Ghana which needs no introduction at all.

Kuulpeeps Legon: Okay so what kind of model are you?  I hear there are different types

Nii Classy: Oh yeah! there are a lot but I specialize in Editorial and Commercial modelling. I’m also very good on the Runway fashion shows too.

Kuulpeeps Legon: What’s your most memorable shoot or show?

Nii Classy: I have a few especially one with Lavanita, a Ghanaian fashion and style blogger but let’s say the most memorable shoot was with an international Photographer named Dusica Paripovic. She did the sea waves shoot. With the runway, my most memorable will be the Accra Fashion Weekend.

Kuulpeeps Legon: What’s the most ridiculous misconception about the modelling industry you’ve heard?

Nii Classy: This!! Someone asked one time… ISHMAEL you’re beautiful, are you gay? Then i said in my head, kindly bring me your sister, then we will see. (laughs) I can’t believe some people think I’m gay, I’m very straight people!! Most people think being a male model means you’re automatically gay and that’s just wrong. Homosexual reports cripple the sanctity of the male model industry.

But thankfully, more male model oriented programs are being organized like the Accra Men’s Fashion show. Also models as Richmond Barnes and Uth Bangura are making us proud and inspiring us.

Kuulpeeps Legon: So aside modeling, what are your other passions?

Nii Classy: I’m an Entrepreneur, currently a co-founder of Classy Rolls and Sobolo. We do cupped sobolo and Spring Rolls and we take orders for all occasions.  I also do Event Organizing sometimes when I land a contract of that sort and it’s relatively cheaper than any other events organizer you’ve met. (free ad) Aside that, I have some projects I’m working on which God-willing next year will be set in motion.

Kuulpeeps Legon: Nice. your stage name is Nii Classy so, tell us, what are your 5 staples every Classy guy should have in his closet?

Nii Classy: lol ebei!! Okay Every Alpha male should have at least one suit in his closet, a brown belt and brown shoe, a pair of sunglasses (for sunny days) and plain (for casual evenings) and at least a pair of boots, it will come in handy. Trust me. One important thing is also never walk out without your wrist watch and please, leave the slippers (Charlewote) in the washroom!!!!

Kuulpeeps Legon: Quick advice to aspiring young models?

Nii Classy: Hey there, you reading this, yes you…let your dreams scare you, know what you want and go for it and oh take advantage of opportunities, they help you grow faster.
