According to Olivia Ewurabena Adiku, the Western Regional Police Public Relations Officer, the police at about 11:40 P.M on Friday July 20, had in their possession, an extract that implicated the suspect, William Otoo of his attempt to sell off the 18-year old pupil of the school to a ritualist for sacrificial purposes.

The Western Regional Police Public Relations Officer indicated that William mistakenly placed a call to a Reverend Minister at Ayamfuri instead of placing the call to the ritualist who wanted to purchase the student.

She said that the Reverend Minister successfully disguised himself as the said ritualist and offered to buy the student for an agreed amount of GHc 250,000.

The extract that was turned over to the police was enough evidence to pick up the teacher and keep him in police custody pending further investigations.

Willaim was therefore arrested at Ayamfuri after he had gone to take the cash for the sale of the student.

The student in question is believed to be in JHS 1 and is mentally-challenged.

The teacher, William Otoo is believed to have met up with the student in Ayamfuri, placing him at the said place of the attempted sale.
