This year has been rife with lots of good albums from our major favorites and now it looks like we have one more to anticipate and spend a whole week talking about.
Curtis Jackson, mostly known as 50 Cent (yeah the guy who got shot ’50’ times) and more popularly known as the guy who gave us the awesome series, Power, has put his fans in anticipation mode again.
50 Cent has assured his fans that his album, Street King Immortal which should have been released 5 years ago, will be out by the end of this year.
In a recent Interview, he revealed that the album will be the exact opposite of JAY-Z’s album, 4:44 which he referred to earlier this month as too smart.
“I said [4:44] was good, I just said it was too smart. I think you got to kind of dumb down the material to fit into what the culture is producing. Now, it’s more melody-driven; it’s not as sophisticated as it was when I first came in,” he said.
He added that he only wanted to make music that people can have fun to. Music you can get immediately without having to sit and analyze.
Guess there would be no more Candy shop and roller coaster rides in this album.
Hopefully, this time, the album that got his fans patiently waiting for years will be released.
… Unless of course he wants to pull a Frank Ocean and give his fans 2 albums.
Then…
2 albums worth the 5 year wait won’t be too bad now would it?
We just have to pray that him ‘dumbing’ it down won’t turn it into
something else.
