Two police officers were shot by armed robbers at Lapaz earlier today.
Eye witness reports indicates that the police officers were shot by the armed men who are believed to be armed robbers.
The police officers were said to have approached the two armed men because they suspected them to be thieves.
However, as they got nearer to the men, the men fired their guns at the policemen who were on a motorbike.
the police officers were rushed to the hospital by taxi drivers after some civilians had overpowered the armed men and caused a civilian arrest.
The civilians handed over the suspects to the Lapaz police officers who were directing traffic close to the scene.
The men are now in police custody.
