Jay Z just became the first rapper to be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame yesterday.
Jay Z could not attend the induction ceremony that was held in New York City because of Beyoncé’s pregnancy with twins, which are expected to be delivered soon.

Jay Z just went on a twitter spree. If you are the first of anything, I guess you should be damn proud right?
In a series of tweets spanning over an hour, Jay Z — who rarely uses social media — thanked dozens of fellow artists including Rakim, 2Pac, Notorious B.I.G., Nas, J. Cole, Kanye West, Kendrick Lamar, Chance the Rapper, Lauryn Hill, Nicki Minaj, De La Soul, Eminem and plenty more.
