In a recent report by the United Nations, Ghana has dropped from 1st to 3rd in the world’s largest consumer of cannabis. Ghana has lost its first position to North Korea. North Korea is followed by Cambodia where restaurants are allowed to cook it and serve as side dishes.
This year’s ranking was reported during this year’s celebration of the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking which was held in Bolgatanga, the Upper East regional capital, the event was themed: ““Listen First: Drug Prevention among the Youth and Children.”
It was organized by Life out of Alcohol and Drugs Ghana (LOAD Ghana) in collaboration with Basic Needs Ghana.
