The definition of fashion was graced on Saturday, 27th May 2017 at the Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel as students of Radford University College showcased their clothing designs in grand style.
The event which was hosted by Madam Hillary, started with an exhibition that was full of great works from both the fashion students and graphic design students.
Each designer had a line of clothes that were beautifully designed by each of them.
The fashion show started around 6pm with designers from the school using Woodin textiles to create fashion trends of their own. The show continued with another set of designs from selected top students from Radford.
The show saw beautiful designs from various designers like Agnes Yankey (@angelinayaks), Dorcas Kpogoh (@darc_chocolatedorcas), Candice Tempeng (@kutekatty) and Winnie Kotei.
Dorcas Kpogoh (@darc_chocolatedorcas) stole the night with her theme entitled “Junk Yard.” Her line stood out among all, with great cheers from the crowd as her models cat walked gracefully in her designs. They were wild, crazy yet flawless. She even had Elorm Kabu known as spacely (@spacely1z) a recording artist to perform as her models took each step on the runway with a perfect setting of junk yard with road signs and designs made of road signals.
Some of the fashion designs took us back into the nineties; Nii Dromoh Mensah one of the selected designers went wild and back with his designs under the inspiration of the theme “1950 Casual Glamour” which also stood out from the first design to the last.
The final design to grace the Radford Grand Finale Fashion Show was that of Alexandra Tamiyama (@alexandratamiyama) who had the clothing line themed “Obaa Chan Chan ‘93” which was a mixture of old Ghanaian culture and Japanese culture.
The show was graced by Madam Yvonne Ntiamoah who is the head of department of fashion at Radford and also, the SRC President of the school. It also had students of the KNUST fashion department in attendance.
Here are some photos from the event.
