If you thought last year’s Pentagon Hostel fees was expensive, then think again.

The new fees for Pentagon, officially known as the African Union Hall, is way higher than what was charged last year, though many people thought it would be reduced this year after six years of operating as an official hall.

The hostel fees have seen an increase between 5.2 per cent and 10 per cent.

For the 2017/2018 academic year, the Management of the Ghana Hostels Limited in the University of Ghana is charging students between GHS 2,000 and GHS 14,736 for a year’s stay at Pentagon.

Ghanaian students who choose their privacy over everything else will pay as much as GHS 11,000 for a single room with an air condition, however, international students with the same taste will pay GHS 14,736 for the same service.

Meanwhile, the price hikes did not affect all the rooms Pentagon has to offer. Last year, two students in a room with air condition and four students in a room without an air condition located at the old Pentagon attracted a fee of GHS 3,700 and GHS 2,000 respectively. These were maintained for the next academic year as well.
