Voting exercise to elect executives for the University of Ghana Students’ Representative Council (UG-SRC) is underway despite it facing some challenges previously.
Polls opened earlier today paving way for some students to cast their vote via electronic voting machines.
The UG SRC Electoral Commission (UG-SRC EC) canceled the election last week hours after polls had opened because of voting technology malfunction and unavailability of certain electronic equipment that were required for the smooth running of the elections.
The various polling stations for the election are relatively calm as students go through the voting process with relative ease today as compared to that of last weeks botched elections.
As at midday yesterday, plans to hold today’s election were limbo because the UG SRC EC had not received a GHS 14,000 cheque from the UG Management to organize the elections.
