KNUST Website Appears To Have Been Hacked

The website of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) appears to have been hacked by a hacker who has identified him or herself as Shirley Fiagome.

The web address plays host to some school information and other sensitive students’ information as the university has employed the use of the website as another means of improving its academic and administration processes.

The hacker posted a lock down message on the landing page that expresses the hacker’s misgivings about a rather bad content management systems used to build the website.

Written in pidgin, parts of the message reads, “chale adey shy u waa but astill 4 talk dis tin. If de cms u no fi build and maintain am well dn y say u no go use drupal, joomla or wordpress, cos dis tin u build di33 echeck lyt toy car.”

Currently, this message has been taken down and visitors to the website are greeted with a white page with the inscription, “No database selected” displayed at the top left corner of the page. cannot independently confirm whether this hacker is working alone or has already accessed sensitive students or academic information.
