KNUST STUDENTS ARE INJURED IN NEW KATANGA, CONTINENTAL CLASH

Scores of students at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) have been injured in another violent encounter between Katanga and Continental halls residents.

This new clash occurred last night while the two halls campaigned for their preferred candidates seeking election in todays, Students’ Representative Council (SRC) election.

The students started throwing stones at each other after a misunderstanding over which hall should be given the opportunity to campaign at the Africa Hall.

Reports indicates that residents of Continental and Katanga halls both arrived at the Africa Hall at the same time to campaign but there was a misunderstanding over who should campaign first. Both sides believed they arrived at the hall first and that they should be given the chance to campaign.

The events quickly turned into a scuffle when they started throwing stones at each other. University security were said have reported at the scene to break up the fight

Continental Hall is supporting Bruce Yeboah Gyampoh while Katanga has thrown its weight behind Rasheed Ahmed Nakpan.
