
The four-day burial rites (doteyie) for the late Asantehemaa, Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem II is underway and thousands of mourners are expected to file past her remains at the Manhyia Palace where she has been laid in state.
Mourners are expected to file past the body until Thursday when she would finally be buried.
She will be buried on Thursday night at the Breman Royal Mausoleum (Ban mu) after a brief stopover at the Bantama Royal Mausoleum (Ban mu) where some traditional rites will be performed.
Before burial, there will be a two-hour church service at the Manhyia Palace grounds (dwabirem) on Thursday.
As part of the arrangements for her burial of the Queenmother, no one is to be seen on the streets from Bantama to Breman, from 6:00pm of Thursday, 19th January to 3:00am of Friday 20th January.

President Akufo-Addo is expected to be there with other dignitaries from neighboring countries to join the Asantehene Otumfuor Osei Tutu (the second) to mourn.
