It was reported some few weeks back that scientists have developed a drug they hope could lead to a cure for HIV and AIDS.
The researchers in Israel identified a protein they claim can reduce the virus in infected patients by 97 per cent in just eight days, according to the Times of Israel.
In view of this, the Director-General of the Ghana AIDS Commission, Dr Angela El-Adas, has cautioned People Living with HIV (PLHIV) not to be swayed by claims and stories by some people and organisations parading as having a cure for the pandemic.
“There are many series of tests that substances must be subjected to before a claim of cure is made. The Ghana AIDS Commission, along with the Ministry of Health and the Food and Drugs Authority will be most proud to support the announcement of any such finding,” she added.
