Proverbs are an essential part of speech (at least for me, because they make me sound smarter than everyone), proverbs can be very tricky and confusing sometimes.
To prove to you how confusing proverbs can be, we present you some proverbs that contradict each other.
1. “God’s time is the best” but at the same time, “God helps those who helps themselves”
Please make up your mind so I know if I have to continue being lazy or not.
2. Ok so “The pen is mightier than the sword” but “Actions speak louder than words?”
Umm…what?
3. Also, “The best things in life are free” BUT at the same time, “There’s no free lunch”
Wait…how…wait…Huh?
4. Again how come “Birds of a feather flock together” but “Opposites attract?”
Ummmmm
5. Then the last one, “Absence makes the heart grow fonder” but “Out of sight, out of mind”?
Naaaaah…Y’all crazy
So yeah, next time you’re using a proverb to prove a point, take a moment to cross check before you argue, because slow and steady wins the race, even though time and tide waits for no one. LOL
