Ghanaian artists in recent times are pushing beyond the boundaries and breaking the status quo especially when it comes to their social media and the ultimate *blue tick* (verification) attached to their various social media names which they hold so much in high esteem. The following are few of the celebrities who have been verified within this year.
Shatta wale (Bandana)
The controversial dancehall artist who shot to fame once again in 2014 with his break through song ‘Dancehall King’ after 10 years of going quiet in the music industry, despite his hit song “Moko Hoo” (bandana from Ghana) in the early 2000s. Shatta’s arch rival Samini Dagaati amidst their beef uses his no verification to mock and label him as a local champion. But in August 2016 Shatta Wale took to twitter to announce his twitter verification in a comic way with the #PapaTwitter as a clap back to his adversaries.
Irene Logan
The sensational songstress formerly of music duo Irene and Jane is among the artist to be verified on twitter. This amazing, talented artist who has the voice of an angel, lashed out at the organizers of the VGMA 2016 after she lost to Mzvee in the female vocalist category. She took to her twitter on the 29th of August this year to express her surprise with her account being verified. (but I doubt…alo surprise abi now u can apply to be verified or?)
Okyeame Kwame
The Rap Doctor, Mr. Versatile and the self-proclaimed best rapper alive has join the league of blue tick men. Okyeame Kwame has taken it to a new height as he is among the few Ghanaian celebs to get verified on Instagram. With 177k followers, Okyeame Kwame definitely celebrates his blue tick in style with his new joint “Halleluyah”
DJ Mensah
The untouchable DJ Mensah, the official DJ of the CEO of Sarkcess music ,Sarkodie is among the latest celebs to be verified on twitter. Actually August has been a really blessed months for Ghanaians celebs who have been raising the flag high.
Mr. Eazi
With his new Starboy worldwide record signing, Mr Eazi definitely deserved his verification. Mr Eazi who has been buzzing both the Ghanaian and Nigerian music industry with his breakthrough song Bankulize and Skintight has also received the blue tick on twitter. Like he says #LifeIsEazi with Mr. Eazi.
Ameyaw Deberah
The multiple award winning celebrity blogger and publicist has also been blue ticked on twitter. Deborah who owns ameyawdebrah.com and runs a sister site yen.com.gh influences the Ghanaian populace with his news items. In August 2016 Ameyaw was verified and he kick start his new outdoor with the release of AmeyawSays app for all mobile devices.
