Arabic Language To Be Added To WASSCE By 2017

The government of Ghana will be integrating Arabic into the West African Senior School Certificate Examination by next year.

In a speech read by the chief of staff, Julius Debrah on behalf of President Mahama at the inauguration of the Federation of Islamic Senior High Schools in Ghana (FISHSIG) in Accra, government reveals the initiative forms part of efforts”to ensure that the colleges of education are empowered to train more Arabic and Islamic scholars”.

Government hopes that with the subject made examinable, Arabic language as a subject will be effectively stimulated, monitored and supervised across Ghana’s Islamic schools
