ECG Has Responded To Complaints About Load Shedding

The Electricity Company of Ghana has officially released a statement addressing customer complaints they have been receiving about the possible return of the load shedding crisis commonly referred to as ‘Dumsor’.

In a news release on ECG’s Official Website, the General Manager/Public Relations, Mr. William Boateng is said to have indicated power generation challenges that have affected ECG’s ability to distribute power effectively. What this means is that ECG, the state distributor of power does not have enough of it to supply.

The release further goes on to mention that, ‘ECG has been informed of the expected arrival of fuel within a week to help address these challenges. If this situation is not addressed soon, the Load Management Committee, under the Ministry of Power, will be expected to announce the quantum of power to shed over the period.’

According to a report by Myjoyonline this morning, the Deputy Power Minister, John Jinapor, was quoted on Citi Fm saying the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) will make the new timetable for the load shedding public soon.

We will keep you updated on developments with this story.
