BECE 2016: Mahama Expresses Pride In WAEC

This weekend during a visit to Aburi Girls Secondary School for the school’s 70th anniversary celebration, the President was full of commendation for the West African Examination Council.

President Mahama remarked that he was “pleased to note that WAEC has risen to the occasion to deal with the shameful examination malpractices that have plagued examinations over the past several years,”

It appears WAEC have stepped up the security around the BECE exam papers, this year’s examinations  being a polar improvement from last year’s leakage-ridden one which led to the cancellation of the Religious and Moral Education, Mathematics, English Language, Social Studies and Science.

To properly monitor the transportation process to prevent a repitition of last year’s incident, the Council employed personnel from the Bureau of National Investigation(BNI) to follow the bulk of papers until they got to each examination center.
