The quarter finals of the National Science and Maths Quiz is on going at the University of Ghana, Business School. Out of the 27 schools that made it to the quarter finals, only 9 will proceed to the semi finals on Monday, 27th June, 2016. The finals of the competition is on Wednesday, 29th June, 2016. Here are the favorites of the competition.
St. Thomas Acquinas SHS
Dorh Theophilus and Owusu Dennis are the contestants for St. Thomas Acquinas . They both have experience in the competition because they contested last year. They won their quarter finals contest by a 26 points margin. Watch out for these boys.

Mfantsipim Boys School
In a very competitive contest against reigning champions, Prempeh College and Wesley Girls’ SHS in the quarter finals stage, the botwe boys emerged winners of the day. Victor Makafui Azumah, a stammerer, answered most of the speed race questions to catch up with Prempeh College at the end of the forth round. Mftansipim got two riddles in the final round and beat Prempeh by a 3 point gap.

Accra Academy
They have never won the NSMQ. This year the schools contestants are also favorites of the competition. Though they narrowly escaped the 1/8th stage by beating Tamale Islamic SHS by a point gap, they put on an impressive performance. They gave a 20 point gap at the quarter finals stage.

Ghana National College
Salma and Kezia had the highest score at the preliminary stage and also beat Pope Johns SHS and Presby Sec Tech, Aburi. The girls are good and are favorites of the competition.

Three of the favorites( Ghana National, St. Thomas Acquinas And Mfantsipim Boys) of the competition are competing against each other on Monday at the Semi finals stage. The winner of that contest will likely win the contest. All the best to competing schools .
