The Fresh Prince Of Belle Reve: Why Will Smith Decided To Take On Suicide Squad?

Will Smith usually has the title of hero, “blowman” or the good guy. In his latest role, however, we see him try to earn some street cred as the antihero Deadshot.

Deadshot is the leader of task force X, a team of the world’s most dangerous criminals who are forced to put their various skills to use serving the US government. Their compliance is ensured with explosives in their heads that can be activated at the discretion of Amanda Waller, the founder of the team. Task force X is based out of Belle Reve a prison and sanitarium.

Smith explains what attracted him to the Deadshot role; “I guess I like the concept of dubious morals. I always liked to play in that area. With Suicide Squad, we just started on that. I think I haven’t explored the psychology enough of Deadshot, somebody who could take money to kill people; how he justifies that for himself. So, I still have a little bit of work to do on that, but in my life in general and in my career, those are the type of roles that I’m pushing more towards; those kinds of questions.”

To prepare for the role our former tongue acrobat (rapper) not only hit the gym but also hit the gun range to get his accuracy up. He is, after all, playing a master of firearms who doesn’t miss, ever.

We all can’t wait to see the dark side of one of our favourite good guys.
