Today on #KuulOnCampus, we celebrating Mohammed Muhi-Deen Yakubu who is a level 300 Computer Science Student at Sunyani Polytechnic. The OKESS old student is popularly known as ‘Baby Bash’ or ‘GhBlogger’. He chose to blog because he had interest in entertainment news and the showbiz industry. He always wants to use his blog to share his views and ideas when issues from these two fields pop up. Aside his own blog, he also doubles as a publicist for MonteOZ360.com, Ghfreestyle.com and TunesGh.Net. He is also an entertainment Pundit on StormFM in Sunyani.

Life has not been easy for Baby Bash being a blogger and taking the responsibility to share latest news and double as a student attending lectures most hours. Time management has been a major challenge but he still tries his best to blog and study at the same time because the passion keeps him moving. Sometimes, money meant for upkeep is used for internet bills to keep the blog up and running.

For the past few years, Baby Bash has mostly been blogging about local and international celebrities, showbiz and entertainment news with a bit of music updates. To him, Blogging in Ghana is gaining recognition steadily with the help of social media networks but the only problem has been; bloggers always in a rush to be the first to post something on the internet though unconfirmed.  Those involved mostly cannot clarify what they have posted when contacted because they find themselves wanting in the name of getting more traffic and getting paid monthly by Google AdSense.  He has hope that the few Ghanaian bloggers with genuine content and certified news will always stand out in the game.

This is what Baby Bash had to say on his view of new upcoming blogger;

Aside a handful of blogs that have portrayed  interest in false approach to spreading unnecessary news and fake rumours through blogging, which makes readers loose respect even for blogs with high repute, I think the new age of bloggers are really helping to build the showbiz industry. That I can boldly say, people get heard and listened to easily by a wider coverage of audience now that bloggers use internet and new media to spread information within a short space of time.

When asked what his best and worst moments as a student blogger were, this is what he said;

My best moments as a student blogger has always been celebrities visiting me on campus anytime they are on campus for events or in Sunyani Municipality because of some stories I did for them of hype I gave them on my blog or their new tracks or projects. Everybody loves to hold the bragging right, and it is best when your job speaks for itself.

My worst moment was when I has to stay overnight to get my blog updated with news and music only to over sleep, and wake up realizing that there I had missed a mid-semester exams. I had to trail that paper and resit the following semester.

Baby Bash was awarded the ‘BEST STUDENT RADIO PERSONALITY’ and ‘BEST STUDENT WRITER/BLOGGER’ of the year at the just ended Sunyani Poly Excellence Awards ’16. He is currently working on migrating from just a blog, to a paid domain which will be www.MediaHomeGh.com   which will basically focus on entertainment and showbiz news and will also have a music portal for latest track downloads. It actually is 90% done and will be launched very soon. He wishes to invite all up and coming bloggers to grab this opportunity he is giving them to join his team and perfect their hands on blogging skills.

He added that he get his inspiration from God and what makes him unique is that he doesn’t share stories on his blog, he rather relies authentic sources for confirmed stories before putting them up. He ended that he hates to publish news that will seem to defame or put someone to shame just because of views.

This is his message to his fans and to upcoming bloggers;

To the readers and fans of my blog and me, I would want to thank them very much. My doors are always open for them to correct me as I go wrong. In as much as bogging is my passion, I blog for their reading pleasure and if in the course of that I err, I would be glad if they confront me and correct me.

To upcoming bloggers, blogging is not about making money. That should always be out of your mind. The money will only come when you do a good work. As they say, good name is better than riches, they should know that if you work harder to get a good name, the money will follow and never stop. Blogging is a way of life, it is either you are in for the passion of you just put a stop to it.

Thank you for having me. My name is GhBlogger and I am out!!!
