Saturday, 30th April, inside the New Examination Centre at was the Excellence and Innovation Awards and Dinner Night, the first of its kind (awards) to be held at the University of Cape Coast. On the night, deserving students and alumni of the school were awarded duly in the presence of some high profile people like the Vice chancellor, chiefs of the surrounding communities and some mainstream Ghanaian celebrities. The star studded awards and dinner night was attended massively by glam-looking-ladies and Stylish gentlemen was fun from stage performances to guest appearances, red-carpet glamour to winners and the after party which went down at the Bajaya Night Club at the Elmina Beach resort. Performances on the night by Uncle Ato, Ohemaa Mercy, Kwaw Kese and the Goil live band were too hot and got the whole hall dancing throughout the night. Just like many awards night, last night’s came with its own controversies about who won what and the whole organization of the event but as far as we experienced it should go down as one of the best organized dinner nights on Campus.
Other Big winners on the night were Kwaw Kese, Ohemaa Mercy, Uncle Ato, James Gardener, Ivan Quashiga’s Farmhouse Productions, and “Drive”- UCC’s most hardworking security personnel and many others.
