When you are giving a passionate speech and the listener is staring intently, right past your ear, chances are that the person is thinking of more exciting things than what you have to say
Smiling Too Wide
They are obviously not interested in what you are saying but they do not want to come off as rude so they smile… an over compensation for the total lack of interest and enthusiasm in what is going on.
Watch out when someone nods too often to what you are saying. Chances are that they only want to agree with everything you say without even knowing what you are saying just to get out. They may even be dozing off, hence the frequent nodding
When someone throws a compliment in the middle of your statement, chances are they haven’t been paying much attention and have been fixated on the thing they complimented you about.
Tapping Their Fingers Or Doodling
People can pretend to be paying attention but their body language always betrays them. The mindless things they do, like tapping their fingers or doodling idly betrays their disinterest in what is going on around them.
