National Communications Authority (NCA) has taken off OB TV, the television station belonging to Obinim, and some other channels off our screens with immediate effect. Most of these channels were on the MULTI TV‘s platform.

This comes up after the stations failed to pay heed to warnings from the NCA to go through the right channels in order to operate. The NCA has said that the channels taken off did not have license and were not regulated to operate.
Kessben TV, Angel TV, Care TV, Dr. Nduom’s ATV, Capital TV and many others are amongst the channels taken off.

The management of most of these TV stations has been putting up a case against the NCA in the media that they have been operating for two years and as such NCA ought to be lenient and give them time to recoup and do the right thing. However, the NCA argued that it was under no obligation to negotiate with them.

According to the NCA’s official website, only twenty-eight TV stations have been authorized to air on our screens.
