Reasons For The State Of Accra This Easter Season

Often than not, Accra is lively on holidays. However, this Easter holiday, there has not been much action in Accra. Kuulpeeps takes a look at why Accra has been slow this season .

First reason we thought of is the Kwahu Easter festivities. The festivities ongoing at Kwahu has gotten all the attention. It is as if everywhere stopped existing on Friday. The shakers and movers of Accra have moved to Kwahu to have fun. Sad part is that most of them are not even Kwahu natives.

KNUST’s Republic Hall Week is another factor worth looking at. One would expect the tertiary students who couldn’t go home or couldn’t go to Kwahu to make Accra lively. However, this year, the Repu Hall week, which is like the Kwahu for tertiary students or say Christmas for tertiary students, is this particular weekend. Students at Legon, IPS, Central and others have thronged to Kumasi for the Hall week.

These two reasons account for the dry state of Accra. Most event organizers moved to Kwahu and Kumasi for the season. Hopefully, things will turn around on Tuesday, when everyone is back in town.
