Nigerian Student At All Nations University Arrested For Power Theft

A Nigerian student at All Nations University College in Koforidua has been arrested for stealing electricity to the tune of GH¢3,417.70.

21-year-old David Ekemiy was arrested at his residence, Rasta Down near the Koforidua Polytechnic in the Eastern Region during a routine patrol by the Eastern Regional Loss Control Unit (LCU) of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) with the assistance of the police.

During the exercise, the LCU team detected that David had engaged in meter by-pass where he had connected some of his gadgets without making them pass through the meter.

The General Manager of ECG in the region, Mr.  Michael Baah, who made this known to the public said that ECG has been recording lots of losses in the region and most were due to the activities of power
thieves.

David is being processed and will be arraigned before a court in the course of the week.
