The Electoral Commission of the Student Representative Council of KNUST has announced in a statement that the re-vetting of all Aspirants would be held on Saturday, 19th March 2016 at the Old Laundry in KNUST commencing at 7 am.
This comes after the SRC judicial committee headed by Mr.F.Abu – Bonsrah ordered the Electoral commission to re-enact the entire screening process of which a new vetting panel was to be formed, after one of the aspirants Amoako Ahenkorah took the case before the committee after being disqualified in the vetting results.
This clearly means that all aspirants vying for the various positions would have to be vetted again by an entirely new vetting panel. Meanwhile, some students have expressed dismay in the midst of the disputes and delays surrounding this year’s upcoming elections, whilst others believe the right thing has to be done to ensure accountability and fairness to all candidates.
