President Mahama has commissioned Ghana’s first private medical institution to train doctors. The school, Family Health Medical School, is located at Teshie in Accra.
The facility was commissioned by President John Dramani Mahama in the presence of ex-presidents Rawlings and Kufour.
It also saw its inaugural matriculation with its first batch of 16 students to be trained. The school will also provide update course for foreign trained doctors who would want to practice in Ghana.
It gives me immense joy to know that there are fellow Ghanaians who would go to any length to sacrifice their personal comfort to invest in such a bold initiative as the establishment of our first private medical school.Professor Kwawukume and his team first established a Hospital, then a Nursing School which has trained so many nursing assistants and they have now committed their resources in establishing Ghana’s first Private Medical School.
