Following President Mahama’s declaration that he would debate Nana Akufo-Addo, to clear up a lot of the ‘contentious statements’ the NPP flagbearer has made on the campaign trail, Nana Addo has responded.
The President in an interview with TV3 on Monday, March 14th, he expressed his desire to set the record straight in relation to several claims the leading opposition party’s executives, especially Nana Akufo-Addo have been making. He mentioned that he will debate Nana Akufo-Addo even if he was called immediately. The NPP flagbearer took to twitter with a response
Will @JDMahama debating me solve #Ghana’s problems? If so then I am ready to debate him anytime, anywhere and anyday
Considering the obvious fact that there will be Presidential debate(s) organised ahead of the 2016 general elections, it doesn’t seem likely that this debate is going to happen between the two frontrunners but the back and forth that has already started is indicative of the tone the campaign trail is going to take.
