GPL Round Up: Kotoko sinks in Berekum, Dreams Held at Dewu while Yatsuhashi  Keeps Soaring!

Ghana Premier League was in action over the weekend with exciting fixtures and results. Some teams registered their first win for the season whereas others had their woes deepened.

Attendance at the various league centers were convincing with output from the various teams splendid.

Match day four started off on Saturday when two teams battling out on top of the league went against each other at the Theatre of Dreams in Dewu. The match which saw officials of the Senior National team, Black Stars, including coach Avram Grant and Maxwell Konadu ended in a stalemate when Emmanuel Lomotey of Dreams FC’s goal was cancelled by Wa All Sars’ Wahidu Mumuni.

The woes of Asante Kotoko was deepened as they fell to Berekum – based Berekum Chelsea by two goals to nothing. Saddick Adam hit a brace to silence the “wo kum apem a apem be ba” lads.

Inter Allies forced a draw out of New Edubiase in Obuasi. Their game ended in a goalless draw.

Tough talking Micky Charles’ side, Techiman City, were pipped by the scientific soccer lads at their home in Dansoman. A goal from Latif Blessing was enough to give the Dansoman-based, Liberty Professionals the needed three points.

Struggling Aduana Stars found its feet after winning at home against a well composed WAFA. Captain Godfred Saka converted a spot kick to revive the team which seemed to be sinking after losing their first three matches.

Kenichi Yatsuhashi and his boys registered their third win when they took on Bechem United at the Accra sports stadium. Hearts of Oak got their goals through Sam Yeboah, Mustapha Essuman and Isaac Mensah with John Nyamekye pulling a consolation goal for the Bechem boys.

At the Esipong  stadium in Sekondi Takoradi, Ashantigold  forced a draw out of Hasaacas. Ashantigold scored through Kadri Mohammed whereas former Ghana Premier league top scorer, Eric Bekoe got the goal for Hasaacas, increasing his goal tally to three.

The match between struggling Abusua Dwarfs and Medeama has been postponed  due to the latter’s continental assignment.

Match day four registered nine goals with four drawn games. Meanwhile no away team was able to register a win.
