MP’s Murder: EC Slates By-election For April 5.

The Electoral Commission has set April 5, 2016, to conduct a by – election in the Abuakwa North constituency in the Eastern Region of Ghana.

This by-election has become necessary as a result of the death of the sitting Parliamentary member, Hon. J. B Danquah Aduana.

The emergency polls have been scheduled in accordance with Article 112(5) of the 1992 constitution which stipulates the immediate replacement of a sitting member following his death.

The young and vibrant legislator, J.B Danquah was allegedly murdered in cold blood by 19 years old Daniel Asiedu at his Shiashi residence in Accra, on February 9, 2016.

Daniel Asiedu has since been picked up by the police and is standing trial in the court of law.
