New headmaster of Opoku Ware School, Dr. Alex Nimoh Frimpong has recalled the three student who were suspended for homosexual-related allegations. The three, said to be the school’s representatives at the Vodafone Icon, were suspended following a caught-in-the-act report by some students. Reports suggested that they were almost lynched by the students who saw them. This forced the hands of the school’s administration to suspend them.
For a student to be dismissed or suspended indefinitely, headmaster’s approval is required. However, at the time they were suspended, the school had no headmaster following the dismissal of Mr. FM Oppong-Mensah. As a result, the decision by the teachers and administration was a temporal one until another headmaster was appointed.
Following the appointment of Dr. Alex Nimoh Frimpong, he has reviewed the decision and has come recalled the students. A section of students have expressed their disappointment at the decision.
