VOLTA HALL GOES BIOMETRIC

The Only Females hall in the University of Ghana is about to enter a new identification phase. The Hall has installed biometric scanners which would scan the IDs (cruz cards) of residents of the hall.

Attempts to know the reason behind the installation has been futile but reports emerging states that the scanners are for security reasons. The Use of this system is to reduce the number of non-residents students who visit the hall. The hall houses a canteen and is also a venue for religious groups on campus hence making it difficult to understand how they are going to manage all these situations.

It is also alleged that the system has also been installed to strengthen the decision for non-residents of the hall to leave the hall before 11pm. A situation the hall has not really been able to with hold.
